According to the Brazilian flat steel marketing association Inda, in Brazil, the state-owned steel company(CSN) announced a 10.5% increase in steel prices in its distribution chain, and Brazilian steelmakers usiminas and ArcelorMittal Brazil may follow suit to raise steel prices.
Inda said both usiminas and ArcelorMittal Brazil should adopt
The same move, because covid-19 has increased steel companies' costs. Carlos lorero, President of Inda, said the price increase should be around 10%.
Lorero said that despite the low domestic steel demand, due to civil construction and home
Some sectors, such as the electricity industry, have recovered slightly, and usiminas and Brazil's state-owned steel company should continue to raise prices.
In contrast, due to the continuous rainy weather in East China and South China, the terminal demand is still difficult to release effectively, the shipping difficulty of merchants is obviously improved, and the upward resistance of spot goods is large. The demand for building materials still needs to be improved, and the high production of thread even presents the risk of accumulation. It is worth noting that the recent hot coil orders and demand have improved significantly, inventory decline is obvious, some areas lack of specifications.
